Review: Essie Damsel in a Dress--And Lots of Photos

Recently, my closest friend was longing for Essie Damsel in a Dress nail polish (retail: $8.00). I had an awesome coupon for Dermstore.com, so I ordered it for her. It was going to be a surprise, but in the meantime, she bought it for herself. So now I have a bottle of Damsel in a Dress of my own...and two other, different Essie shades waiting for her. Damsel in a dress is a lovely deep color, purple in some lights and red in others, looks similar to a dark red wine. It has a little bit of gloss, a little bit of silver glisten. Essie's website describes it as an "oh-so-deep iridescent currant".

I used three thin coats. Application was easy and the consistency was nice. I did not find it to be thin or thick, it was not streaky, and it did not pool around my cuticles. I topped it off with Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Top Coat  (which is fabulous, by the way; retail price is $19.00, but of course, I hardly ever pay retail--sales and coupons for me!). I usually only wear nail polish for a day or two, so I am often not the best source to review polish longevity, but I've had this on since Tuesday and there is no sign of chipping. I have some minor tip wear from typing a lot at work.

The photos say the rest:

Keep an eye out for my next post--I'll show you how I dressed up this mani.

Thanks for visiting!

    1. I love this color, too. You will probably like my next post as well, where it will be featured in a different way.Yes, I was wondering about the next Essie in line.:) I will keep that in mind. I have an excellent coupon just itching to be used.
Hmm...I might have that one. No, maybe not. I must be thinking of Go Overboard. Here is a link to a blogger that used them both together: http://polishandpatience.blogspot.com/2012/03/essie-going-overboard-peacocked-with.html
