Review and Swatches--L'Oreal Infallible Gloss 'Sangria'

Lipstick is typically more my style, but L'Oreal Infallible is my favorite lip gloss so far. I have tried a few different shades, but the most recent is 'Sangria', which I bought from Bloom.com (see my Bloom.com haul post here).

This is their 6-hr Never Fail Lipgloss. It appears from L'oreal's website that they have kicked it up to 8-hr glosses instead.

In the bottle, 'Sangria' looks to me like a warm, dark pink. I think for many ladies it would create a 'my-lips-but-better', almost nude, effect. I am very pale and cool-toned, though, so I think that is why it looks warmer on me and less pink by comparison.

I think that the applicator makes it easy to almost line your lips with the gloss and then fill in the rest. You can be very precise, or just sweep it on.

As you can see, this gloss is very pigmented, none of that sheer stuff. That is probably why I like it so much, since it is closer to a lipstick than most glosses.

Indoors, natural light
This is definitely a long-lasting gloss for me. It stays on for a long time, although the color does not stay at full strength. I will keep color from this gloss on my lips even through some eating and drinking, or a kiss. Yes, some of the color will transfer to your drinking glass, but is easily wiped off.

Indoors, artificial light
What do you think? Do you prefer lipstick, or gloss? Or is a combination best?

You Tell Me--Which Should I Review First?

Bloom.com recently had progressive closeout sales, so naturally I had to pick up a few things. Rumor has it that they were transitioning from having their own stock to only referring you to other retailers. I am not sure if that is true, but that would explain the prices. They had three sales that I know of: 50% off, 60% off, and 70% off. The selection dwindled as the discount increased, of course. These are my picks from the 70% off sale.

Bloom.com 70% Off Haul
Total retail cost of the above items is $69.71. With the coupon code for the sale, and free shipping as part of the deal, I only paid $20.91.

Thank you to everyone who is following Rouge Required--I really appreciate your support of my new venture. Maybe you can help me decide: Which of the following products from my Bloom.com haul should I blog about first? Let me know in the comments.

Revlon Luxurious Color Perle Eye Shadow in Violet Starlet
L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss in Sangria
CoverGirl LashBlast 24 Hour Mascara in Black
Megan Miller Collection Nail Polish in Framboise
CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain in Everbloom Kiss
Pop Beauty In Liner in Green
Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle Nail Colour in Gorgeous Grape
Did you buy anything from the Bloom.com closeout sales? I learned about it from makeuptalk.com; perhaps you did, too. They have a great section where members keep each other up-to-date on coupons, special offers, and sales. To counteract the effects of such enabling, there is also a section where members encourage each other while trying to buy less beauty products. :)
